The MV Wilson Bilbao (88m LOA), berthed in the Western Bight, (West Beach), alongside the Fugro Seacore Jack Up Barge Excalibur on Thursday as part of the Eon Rampion Windfarm Met Mast installation project.

The vessel discharged the transition piece weighing 42 tonnes to the barge and will shortly be discharging the 50m long monopile weighing in at 170 tonnes.

As well as involving Newhaven Port Authority staff and vessels, local marine services companies, Sub-Search Marine and Cutts Marine Limited were also involved in ensuring the operation was a success and proof  that Newhaven offers the skills, technology and manpower for such operations to take place.
