Well Haveners, the good news is that the sun is set to shine throughout the weekend. The even better news is that there is a wide and wonderful choice of entertainment, activity, sport and leisure to keep you happy, healthy and hopping, here in the Haven. So get up, get out and enjoy the Haven life this weekend.

The sun may be shining, but you can start your weekend tonight with a Hatfull of Rain, a Sussex-based Bluegrass influenced British Folk/ Roots band who are playing upstairs at the Royal British Legion Club from 8.00pm. If you fancy taking the mike yourself, then there is the ever-popular Karaoke Night downstairs at the 'Legion' from 8:30pm.

Up at the Hillcrest Centre in Newhaven there is a fine mix of Ballroom Dancing and the Ladies Boxing Club - but not all together. Although that Ballroom Dancing can get pretty rough...

Over on the hill at South Heighton, top classic rock covers band Splitters are playing at The Hampden Arms from 8.30pm. A great night guaranteed at this revitalised and friendly pub.

The Bridge Inn in Newhaven is now on board with our weekend preview and tell us that old covers band Bark Like a Dog will be howling them out tonight from around 8.00pm.

Back down on the West Quay The Ark's recent change of management is working wonders for the place and tonight there is free pool from 5.00pm and on the day that our Lords and Masters announce a minimum price per unit of alcohol, The Ark is offering a double vodka and a splash for just £3.50. Cheers!

Remember that if you are aiming to cross the river later tonight that there is a bridge scheduled for 11.20pm.

If you manage all or even some of those venues tonight, then you will need to sweat it all out on Saturday morning, and what better than a Zumba Fitness Class at the Hillcrest Centre from 9:30am - 10:30am. Well - if you get up in time.

Saturday evening sees The Seaford Mayor's Ball at the Con Club from 7.30pm. This is part of Mayor's Mad March Marathon in aid of WAVES. Tickets £25 to include spring fork buffet and dancing. For details call 01323 894870. Hey - you could even pay for a dance with the Mayor!

Still in Seaford there is the Club Disco at the Seaford British Legion from 8:00pm. Get down and boogie. And all that...

Over in Newhaven and it's Karoke at The Ship from 8pm. Go on. You know you want to.

Back down at the fun-packed Ark, brilliant classic rock band Full House are playing from 9.00pm. You like Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zep, Cream, Deep Purple? Then you will like Full House. Get down and Rock The Ark!

On Sunday the Mayor's Mad March Marathon continues in Seaford with the Mayor's Select 11 playing Seaford Town Seniors at The Crouch. All entry money in aid of WAVES. Get there for a 12 o'clock kick off.

On a quieter note there is a Seaford Cemetery Historic Guided Tour at 2:00pm. Meet at the cemetery gates. Tours are at least one hour long. A donation from ticket sales is made to Seaford & Alfriston Parish Churches. Cost £5. For more info, contact Seaford Tourist Information on 01323 897426.
