NEWHAVEN RAILWAY QUARTER DEVELOPMENT EXHIBITION STARTS AT 3PM

February 29 2012.

The public consultation exhibition displaying plans and information on the proposed Arrowcroft Railway Quarter development on the east side of the Newhaven bridge starts at 3pm this afternoon and runs through until 8pm this evening.

The exhibition is being held at the Newhaven Railway Club on the site of the proposed development and the Arrowcroft project  team is there in force to answer questions from the public on the proposed scheme which includes a Tesco store which will employ some 350 people, plus a new ferry terminal and extended plans for a hotel in the listed Marine Workshops buildings, which will also provide employment opportunities.

Arrowcroft  will present a detailed planning application to Lewes District Council in May and, if successful, work could begin before the end of 2012, with the Tesco Store being completed before the end of 2013.

Haven News attended a media preview of the exhibition this morning and the project team is looking forward to meeting residents and interested parties to discuss the project through this afternoon and evening.

Visit the Arrowcroft website for more information: www.railwayquarternewhaven.co.uk

If you are unable to attend the exhibition today, the Arrowcroft team will return to Newhaven on March the 14th for the Town Council's 'BIG Planning Event'  where you can find out about all three of the proposed new developments for supermarkets and major regeneration in Newhaven.
