If you want to kick the weekend off with some epic rock and blues then head up the hill at South Heighton to the Hampden Arms this evening where Railroad return to cover Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ Top, The Black Crows, Rory Galagher, Buddy Guy, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few!
The weekend is almost here, bringing with it some great entertainment, events and action to get you out and about in Newhaven and Seaford. Whether you want to kick back and relax, or dance the night away, you need look no further than the bright lights of the two towns - So go on, get out there and support your local events!
It's another great Friday night for live music in the Haven area, kicking off with something a little different as Seaford Musical Society presents
Tom Lowe on the cello at the
Cross Way Centre in Seaford from 7.15pm.
Head over to Seaford British Legion from 8pm to catch
Barry and Ingrid Temple upstairs at
Seaford Folk Club. This Geordie duo will be playing some of their own songs, as well as some traditional folk, so go along and see what they're about. Meanwhile downstairs, Quizmaster John has got cash prizes on offer at the
Friday Night Quiz from 8pm, so go on - You've got to be in it to win it!

The Hampden Arms will be rocking on the hill in South Heighton, this week with fantastic Rock and Blues band
Railroad from 8.30pm. Railroad is a three piece hard electric blues rock covers band based in Sussex.
If you like to shoot the breeze on Tidemills beach at the weekend, don't forget that from 7am Saturday morning through until noon on Monday, the
Tide Mills railway level crossing will be
closed for the infamous pedestrian safety gates to be sorted out. Why not go along and advise the workmen how to do the job properly. They are certain to welcome all helpful comments...
On Saturday afternoon head over to the
Denton Social Centre Jumble Sale. It's all in aid of a great local cause,
Haydn's Wish Charity for Asthma and Allergies. Go and give them your support. Over in Denton it's your time to turn musician as the
Music Makers come to
Denton Church Hall from 2pm. You'll get in free if you have an instrument, otherwise it's only 50p to watch and enjoy.
Local football fans will be at Fort Road in Newhaven from 3pm as Newhaven take on Eastbourne Borough Reserves in the intermediate Cup Semi Final.
Saturday evening entertainment comes from two venues that never let us down -
Seaford British Legion will be holding its
Club Disco from 8pm, while over at
The Ark in Newhaven, fantastic guitar and drums duo,
The Fulker Brothers, play from 9pm.
