The Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Linda Wallraven, has launched the "Mayor's Mad March Marathon" (MMMM), a series of events which aim to raise funds for WAVES, the Family Support Service based in Church Street, Seaford.

Councillor Wallraven has written to Seaford organisations asking them to pick a date in March 2012 on which to host an event of any size. The Mayor will attend, take part in and publicise the events, and is also inviting Seaford schools and nurseries to take part in a number of ways, including entering the family themed art competition for young people.

The MMMM will end with an exhibition at The Crypt Gallery in Seaford on Friday, 6th April, where photos and media from the month's events, as well as winning art work from the competition will be on display. The Mayor will also host an evening reception for event organisers and art competition winners, where the total raised for WAVES will be announced.

Many organisations and individuals have already pledged their support in hosting events, with the Mayor calling it, "A fine example of a community pulling together".
