SEAFORD YOUNG MAYOR TO HOST AWARDS

January 10 2012

The Young Mayor of Seaford, Maddie Jay, and her Deputy, Amy Gough, will be hosting the second Seaford Young Mayors Awards on the 21st March, thanks to the generous sponsorship of the Keith Baker Charitable Trust.

The Young Mayors scheme was initiated in Seaford in 2008 to encourage young people to become more involved in their local town, to understand the issues the town is facing and to help councillors and others deal with them.

The awards are open to anyone born on or after the 21st March 1994 and living in the BN25 postcode area. Nominees can be entered into one or more categories, including young performer, young carer, young volunteer, youth group, bravery and sports.

There will also be a category to recognise adults who support youth activities in Seaford, with one outstanding young person being selected for the Young Mayors Award 2012.

Nomination forms are available from the Tourist Information Office at 37 Church Street or from local schools.

For more information on the awards please contact Seaford Town Council on 01323 894870 or email admin@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk
