DEFERRAL FOR NEWHAVEN'S EASTSIDE REGENERATION

4 January 2012

Lewes District Council's Planning Applications Committee has this evening voted to defer making a decision on the planning application proposal presented by Asda Stores Ltd, Barratt Homes and Avalon Newhaven LLP.

The outline planning application for port access, superstore/petrol station, houses and commercial industrial units was deferred to a future date, in order to give due consideration to three other applications proposing major food retail stores and associated development received in recent months.

Of the ten councillors present, seven voted for deferral and three abstained.
