Monday night's storm caused some damage to the west arm of Newhaven harbour, but Newhaven Port and Properties say that although the arm is closed to the public, the damage is not serious. 

"There has been a small amount of storm damage to a small section of the top of the wall. A structural survey has been carried out and there is no risk of a breach of defences. The damage will be repaired when we have a sufficient weather window to allow safe access for contractors," explained an NPP spokesman.
