Coastguards launched Newhaven's RNLI Lifeboat last Friday, 2nd December, to assist with a distressed person who was threatening to jump from the cliff top near the Telscombe Tavern pub.

The lifeboat was launched at 13:22 and stood by until the Police and Coastguards managed to recover the casualty and transfer her into a waiting ambulance. The lifeboat was then stood down at 14:08 and returned to station.
