A27 DIVERSIONS FOLLOWING ACCIDENTS

Drivers are being advised of disruption on the A27, Falmer, after a car left the road at around 7am and a separate car hit the barrier at 7.30 today. The Highways Agency advises that the road will be clear and back to normal by 9.30am.

Diversions are currently in place at Coldean Lane while the Highways Agency makes the road safe for use.

Police responded to reports of an Audi TT having left the eastbound carriageway west of Sussex University near to Hollingbury, landing on its roof after having mounted a bank at the side of the road.

Police later received reports of a second collision on the A27, after a Ford Ka had clipped the barrier.

The man driving the Audi and the woman driving the Ka are not believed to have suffered serious injuries following the collisions.

An ambulance and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended.
