LOCAL GARDENERS TURN THEIR GREEN FINGERS TO BAKING

November 16 2011

Members of Bishopstone Village Hall and Seaford and Peacehaven Horticultural Societies are being invited to become 'MasterChef' style judges for the evening on Thursday 16th February at St Leonards Church Hall in Seaford.

The 'Champion Bakers' of Peacehaven, Seaford and Bishopstone will be going head to head in five baking categories, with the audience tasting and marking victoria sponges, scones, rock cakes, sausage rolls and cup cakes.

Marilyn Nolan, the Champion Baker of Peacehaven Horticultural Society and winner of this years Cornelius Cup, said "I can't wait to bake off against two other local champions and I hope the audience enjoy the interactive experience of 'judging' the entries. Also raising money for charity is just the icing on the cake!"

The overall champion of 'Sea-Haven' will be presented with a cup by the Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Linda Wallraven and all proceeds raised will go to WAVES Family Support Service in Seaford, and the Horticultural Societies.
