The eleventh of the eleventh is of course our national day of remembrance and one which all generations continue to respectfully observe. For one young Newhaven resident the day will have an extra meaning though, as Jasmine Chapman will be celebrating her eleventh birthday on the eleventh month of 2011.

Jasmine, one of many 'millennium babies' born back in 2000, has always understood the significance of her important birthday date. This year though, she will be marking not only her eleventh birthday, but also new beginnings as she and her friends head their separate ways for secondary school next year.

Adrienne Chapman, Jasmine's mum said, "Jasmine cannot wait to celebrate her eleventh birthday on such a special date. She's really looking forward to celebrating with all her friends before they all go off to different secondary schools."
