LORRY AND CAR COLLIDE IN SEAFORD

November 4 2011

Police were called to the A259 following reports of a collision between a car and a lorry at around 9.40am today.

A green Honda Civic and a yellow DAF lorry collided at the junction of Sailsbury Road, blocking the A259 in both directions, resulting in traffic diversions being put in place. A 76-year-old Eastbourne man driving the Honda was taken by ambulance to Eastbourne District General Hospital with minor injuries. A 49-year-old man from Eastleigh, Hampshire, was uninjured in the collision.

Police were called to the scene to divert traffic to minimise disruption, and East Sussex Fire and Rescue and the Highways Agency attended and dealt with spilt fluid on the road, making it safe for use.
