A car overturned on the westbound carriageway of the A27 just before the Southwick tunnel at around 9.20 this morning. The 27-year-old female driver of the Volkswagen Golf has suffered minor injuries and has been taken to hospital.

Drivers are being advised that the westbound carriageway is currently closed. 

Sussex Police and the Highways Agency would like to thank members of the public for their patience and understanding while the road is made safe for use as quickly as possible.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.
