Emergency services were called to the A259 at Friston, between Seaford and Eastbourne this morning after a van overturned near Friston Pond.

The single vehicle incident happened shortly after 5am. The driver was taken to the Eastbourne District General Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.

The road was closed while recovery took place and the highways authority had to clear an amount of mud thrown on to the carriageway by the collision.

The road reopened at 6.37am.
