The Mayor of Newhaven, Cllr Steve Saunders, would like to thank all those who went along and supported his Quiz Night last Friday, 16th September, at Meeching Hall in Newhaven.

13 teams of community groups from Newhaven and Seaford were in attendance, with many prizes being generously donated for the raffle from local businesses, including Wave Liesure, Newhaven Angler, Captain's Table, Sainsbury's, Co-op, Carole Electra, The Drove, Drusillas, The Viceroy, Newhaven Fort and CR Allen and Sons.

The event raised a grand total of £422.00 for the Mayor's three chosen charities, announced on the night as The National Coastwatch Institution, VISTA and Newhaven FC Youth teams.

As well as thanking all those who took part in the quiz, the Mayor added, "I must thank in particular, Tony (JJ) Judd from Seaford Constitutional Club, who very kindly gave up his time to be our fantastic quizmaster. He helped make the evening a great success."
