ESCC Highways has issued a notification of major road works to the Newhaven Ring Road. The works, which will include resurfacing, repairs and signage, will start at 8.00pm on Thursday 22nd September and re-open at 5.00am on Friday 23rd September. 

The Ring Road will be closed between Bridge Street and Meeching Road. All traffic will be diverted via Newhaven High Street and upwards through the Town Centre, where it will rejoin the Ring Road at Meeching Road.

The approach and exit roads to the port are also expected to be severely affected between Wednesday 5th October and Friday 7th October due to restrictions and single lane contra-flow, including temporary traffic lights, between the mini roundabout at the end of the A 26, (by Newhaven Town Station), and the top of the slip road approaching Newhaven Swing Bridge. Again, these works will take place during the night, between 20:00hrs and 05:00hrs.

Details of closure and contra-flow between the roundabouts at Denton Corner and the Drove (Drove Road), again with temporary traffic lights, will follow shortly.
