With another great weekend of entertainment on the cards for Newhaven and Seaford, you would be a fool to miss out on supporting your local events...
The weekend gets off to a flying start tonight with the return of the unmissable
Seaford Live! The ten day live music event sees many of Seaford's pubs and restaurants play host to top local talent, kicking off with
Juno at the Cinque Ports and
Baker Boys at the White Lion. If theatre is more your thing, get down to Seaford Little Theatre from 7:30pm for
A "Little" Bit Of London - An evening of entertainment. Tickets are £5 and there is a performance on Saturday as well - All part of Seaford Live!
It's not just Seaford that has a packed Friday night line-up. If you're in Newhaven,
8th Day are playing at the White Hart and there's a
Cowboys and Indians Karaoke Night at The Ark. Alternatively, head up to the Hampden Arms in South Heighton and catch the
White Linz gig.
The fun continues into Saturday with stacks to do during the day and the evening. Bargain hunters should get down to Seaford Head Lower School for the
Seahaven Scouts Boot Sale from 9:30am, whilst for all you cheese lovers, the annual
Fete De Newhaven/ Dieppe Market makes a welcome return to Newhaven High Street. This is also the first day of the
Open House Art Exhibition at 54 Sutton Road, which is part of Lewes Artwave and continues on Sunday. Not only that, but Seaford historian Kevin Gordan will be giving an
Historic Guided Tour Of Seaford, starting at the Council Offices at 10:30am and costing £4. Well we're certainly not lacking culture in the Haven area!
Seaford Live! continues on Saturday with day time offerings from
Jenni and Chris at the Office Bar, as well as a jammed evening schedule including
Barber and Taylor and Ulrike Gabriele in the Crouch Gardens,
Phil Light with Steve Limpus at The Plough,
Trip Wire at The Shore and
The Jones Boys at V Bar. As if that wasn't enough, there's a
Poker Night at the Harbourside in Newhaven from 7pm and
The Moriarty play their last ever gig at The Ark, sure to be a lively night and a great send off!
Things get a bit more chilled out as we head into Sunday, starting with
Carl Greenwood Late Lunch Jazz at the White Lion in Seaford from 2pm and continuing with
Ava Lyall at Office Bar from 3pm. Kevin Gordon will also be leading another
Historic Guided Tour, this time of Seaford Cemetery, from 3pm. The weekend gets wrapped up with a
Rock/blues Night at Diellas, featuring local band Juno and The Ben Poole Band from Brighton. Booking is recommended, so give them a call now to avoid disappointment!
There's something for everyone, so get out there and enjoy the last weekend of the "summer"!
