SEAFORD COUNCILLOR RUNS FOR WAVES

September 2 2011

Seaford Town Councillor Adrian Campbell is taking on the 38th Berlin Marathon on the 25th September and is seeking sponsorship for the Mayor's Charity - WAVES Seaford Family Support Service.

Adrian has been running for four years with the Seaford Striders Running Club and also volunteers as their treasurer. He competes throughout the year in 10k races, full and half marathons including Beachy Head, New Forest, London and Brighton Marathons. His fastest time is 3 hours 25 minutes but hopes to break his record on the flat German course.

The Mayor of Seaford, Councillor Linda Wallraven, praised Councillor Campbell's offer to raise money for her chosen charity, but gracefully declined his offer to become his training partner stating; "I am extremely grateful to Adrian for volunteering to raise funds for such a good cause and wish him luck in his attempt to break his record time."

WAVES helps families in Seaford who are vulnerable and isolated from the community, trying to relieve pressure, strengthen the family unit and try to prevent possible breakdowns.

With 30 volunteers and family workers, WAVES assists families who are encountering difficulties which are not yet considered serious enough for the statutory social agencies.

Any companies or individuals who wish to sponsor Adrian, please email admin@seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk  or ring 01323 894870.
