YOUTH AQUATICS COURSE IN NEWHAVEN & SEAFORD

 August 23 2011

The Wave Leisure Trust has announced the launch of its new Access to Aquatics course, a scheme offering easy access to water based activities for 14-25 year olds.

Starting week commencing 4th September at the Seahaven and Seaford Head pools, as well as in Lewes and Ringmer, the course is aimed at those who have either never participated or are looking to re-engage after a number of years' gap.

The eight week course, funded through Sportivate, includes an introduction to a number of water based activities such as Aqua Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, snorkelling, swimming lessons, fitness training, sub aqua and lifesaving skills.

Participants will pay just £4 for the whole course (just 50p per week), but are required to complete the whole programme.

Sportivate is a four year, nationwide campaign that captures the excitement of the London 2012 Games, providing opportunities for teenagers and young adults to receive 6-8 weeks of coaching in a sport of their choice and guiding them into regular participation within their community.

Peter Crowley, Managing Director of Wave Leisure said: "We are delighted to be able to offer these courses to local teenagers and young adults as a part of our wider commitment to increasing participation in physical activity locally."

Peter continued: "With 2012 rapidly approaching, now is the time to ensure that we build on the natural excitement and support for the Games."
