WHAT DID YOU DO IN THE WAR FARMER?

Newhaven Historical Society holds its next meeting at the Hillcrest Centre tomorrow, Tuesday the of 3rd April at 7.30pm. The subject of the talk is “What did you do in the war Farmer?”


Society member Will Pilfold will explain how the country was saved from starvation during the Second World War by the efforts of the farming community.   

The government was involved from the very start of the war through County-based War Agricultural Committees (War Ags).  

The talk will tell the story of local efforts to increase food output, both by farmers and the staff and volunteers of the East Sussex War Ag.

Guests are welcome to attend - £5.00 entry.
