February 28th, 2017.

SNAP release:

Members of the Seaford, Newhaven and Polegate branch of the Labour Party held their annual dinner at The View, Seaford Head Golf Club on Saturday the 25th of February. Teresa O’Brien, the new Branch Chair welcomed 50 guests including Councillors from Peacehaven and Westmeston and friends from Eastbourne and Lewes branches.

Guest of honour, MP Peter Kyle from Hove and Portslade, entertained the diners after a splendid meal with a wide-ranging speech covering his journey into politics and Parliament; current issues in politics, which of course included Brexit, by-elections and President Trump. There was a lively question and answer session over coffee and the evening ended with the raffle, with long-time member Ann Jury winning tea at the House of Lords hosted by Baroness Doreen Massey.

The previous Branch Chair Denise Savage was unable to attend due to ill health, but her husband Stuart and daughter Anna, pictured here with Peter Kyle (centre), were able to take her a card of thanks and best wishes signed by everyone.

The Branch has a Supper and Quiz evening planned in April and a guided walk followed by lunch in May.
