SEAFORD TOWN COUNCIL COMMUNITY GRANT SCHEME

April 4th, 2018.

Seaford Town Council has announced that its Annual Grants Scheme is now open for applications. Each year the Council extends the opportunity to local community groups, charities or voluntary organisations to apply for a financial grant from the Council’s grants pool. In the 2017/18 scheme, the Council supported the local community with grants totalling £22,300.

There are certain criteria that must be met to be eligible for a community grant and these are set out in the Council’s Grants Policy that is available at www.seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk.

There are two types of grant available; small grants of up to £500, or; larger grants over £500, up to a maximum of £3,000. Terms and conditions do apply.

In previous years, grants have been awarded for a variety of projects, for example, helping fund vital lifesaving equipment including wet weather jackets and safety equipment for Seaford Lifeguards; helping to replace equipment and uniforms together with training volunteers for Epilepsy Sussex; help with purchasing a badge making machine for use at club sessions for Mecread Youth Centre, and help towards transport costs for Seaford Stroke & Caring Club Charity Trust.

Grants have also been awarded to help ensure the continuation of services that have a clear benefit to the community and residents of Seaford such as the Dial-A-Ride bus service and Seaford Citizens Advice Bureau.

For an application form visit www.seafordtowncouncil.gov.uk where application forms can be downloaded.

*The closing date for applications to be submitted is noon on Friday the of 18th of May.
