SEAFORD PUBLIC MEETING - PLANNING APPLICATION FOR NEWHAVEN PORT EAST QUAY AGGREGATE PROCESSING PLANT

Seaford Town Council has been formally notified of the application by the Brett Group for a major development on the East Quay of Newhaven Harbour (planning application number LW/799/CM).


The Town Council’s Planning and Highways Committee will be considering the application at the meeting on Thursday the 7th of December and deciding on its response to the County Council consultation. The meeting commences at 7.00pm. Please note that representatives of the applicants will not be present at the meeting.

There has been a lot of interest locally regarding the application and the Town Council meeting on social media. Although it is a public meeting, anyone is welcome to . Tattendhe Council Chamber can only accommodate a maximum of 30 people and it has not been possible to arrange a larger venue. The meeting will be filmed and available via the Town Council’s YouTube channel soon after the meeting.

Residents are reminded that Seaford Town Council is a consultee only. East Sussex County Council will make the final decision on the application. The date for the Planning meeting of East Sussex County Council to decide upon the application has not yet been set but will be publicised once known.

Residents are advised that if they wish to make representations to East Sussex County Council they would ideally submit this online on the County Council’s website (see link below) or can also be emailed to devcon@eastsussex.gov.uk for the attention of the relevant Case Officer, Jeremy Patterson. Residents will also be able to attend the East Sussex County Council meeting when it is called however should inform the County Council in advance if they are wishing to make verbal representations at the meeting.
