SEAFORD CHRISTMAS MAGICAL ENTERTAINMENT

Seaford is welcoming in the festive season as it celebrates Christmas Magic 2018 with live entertainment, children’s zone, free lantern making in St Leonards Hall, lantern parade, Christmas market stalls, street food, reindeers, owls and a funfair all day in the town centre this Saturday, the 1st of December from 10.00am through to 6.00pm.


There will be live music on the main stage at the top of Broad Street, with Seaford Choral Society, Vocal Repertoire, Jamie Morgan with Virginia Thorn, Rebecca Clay with Colin Hughes, the PopUp’s and more.

There is also Tansley’s Performance stage in Tansley’s yard just off Broad Street, where Shannon Smith will be hosting an eclectic mix of vocalists, musicians, and other contemporary performances.

Drop into Seaford Library for festive story times on the hour from 11.00am to 4.00pm.

Thanks you to local sponsors, there will be a Santa’s grotto, free lantern making and reindeer - all to enjoy whatever the weather.

Listen out for the Stix Drummers who will also be performing around the town and will be hard to miss.

St Leonard’s Church will be open from 10.00am to 5.00pm with crafts, seasonal readings every hour interspersed with acoustic music and song. Churches Together are hosting a Christmas Trail in the town centre where you can meet the nativity characters. Register at St Leonards Church or with one of the characters themselves from 10.00am to 12noon and 2.00pm to 4.00pm.

There will be street food and mulled wine and a variety of other food from stalls and business premises open to warm you up while enjoying the live entertainment.

Grab some Christmas presents from the market stalls which will be selling jewellery and handbags amongst many other festive goodies. Get in early to pick up your Christmas tree while supporting your local charities at the same time.

Lantern making is a must for children, even if you can’t make the parade from 4.30pm. Pop along to St Leonards Church Hall, behind Tansleys, to make yours for free thanks to the generous sponsors.

The lantern parade is a magical experience to watch as well as take part in, and you get to take your lantern home with you; LED lighting makes for a fun and safe festive feature to enjoy through the festive period.

This all leads up to the switching on of the Christmas Lights at 5.30 pm.

A peaceful end to the day is available at the Barn Theatre where Seaford Community Cinema is showing Paddington 2. Paddington will be spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. Booking advised.
