SEAFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SUPPORTS SEAFORD HEAD SCHOOL PTA

November 12th, 2019.

Seaford Chamber of Commerce presented a cheque for £7,200 to Seaford Head headteacher Bob Ellis last week. Each year, a Golf Day is organised by the Chamber with sponsorship from local business, including a dinner and luxury auction. The total raised was then match-funded by Barclays Bank.

The school promotes Mental Health and Wellbeing for all pupils and its Student Council suggested that equipment for an outdoor gym would not only benefit their physical health, but spending time outside in the fresh air would have a massive positive impact. The donation will help the school to purchase the equipment for this purpose.

Schools in East Sussex have lost over £37 million of funding, equating to £273 per pupil. Seaford Head School will have had a cut of £1.5 million by 2020 and this equates to a loss of funding for six teachers.
