REMEMBRANCE DAY CONCERT IN AID OF HELP FOR HEROES

November 2 2012.

In addition to the usual Remembrance Sunday events this year there is to be a concert in Seaford in aid of Help for Heroes. It is conducted by Frank Parker who, as a military bandsman, played his violin on the signature tune for BBC's Dad's Army, and will repeat the performance on the night.

Seaford Baptist Church in Belgrave Road is the venue, and the 90-minute concert starts at 6.00pm on Sunday the 11th of November. There is free admission with a retiring collection for Help for Heroes.

The Church's 30 strong Concert Choir will be singing a Mass for Peace, but also a medley of wartime songs, and audience participation is encouraged!

There will be classical solos, and the Panis Angelicus will be sung with a small enemble. There will be some popular and appropriate hymns, and songs from the West End.

There will also be a tribute to one of the Church's former members, Donald Hodge, who served on the Western Front, and is remembered by name every year in ceremonies at Ypres's Menin Gate in Belgium.
