PLANT A TREE FOR FREE

October 28th, 2019.

Friends of Riverside Park and Valley Ponds are celebrating National Tree Week at Riverside Park in Newhaven on Sunday the 24th of November from 10.00am through to 4.00pm.

A collaboration between Newhaven Town Council, East Sussex County Council, Lewes District Council, Burleys, Greenhavens Network, Newhaven Tree Wardens, South Down National Park and of course the innovative leaders of this project, Friends of Riverside Park and Valley Ponds.

There are 420 trees to be planted and support is needed to help inspire people to get involved.

Residents and volunteers are invited to meet at Lewes Road Hut from 10.00am to give as much time or as little as they can spare. If families want to only plant one tree that’s fine.

No children will be allowed to plant unless they are supervised by a parent or other adult family member.

Hot drinks and snacks will be available (donations welcome) with use of facilities in the hut.
