NEW MINISTER AT SEAFORD BAPTIST CHURCH

October 6th, 2017.

Seaford Baptist Church has been without a minister since January 2016 but welcomed new minister, Rev Andy Machin, at an induction service last month.

Andy was called into Baptist ministry 16 years ago after 19 years working for a major UK bank. His previous churches were in Essex and Bristol.

Said Andy: “I am really looking forward to building on the existing community work that SBC is involved in, including the new initiative at The Kabin in Cradle Hill.

“I love introducing people to Jesus, and I’m passionate about the church being in the community, working in partnership with others who are community builders. Together, we will seek to meet the practical and spiritual needs of the people of Seaford.”

Andy is married to Liz and they have two daughters who both live and work in London. He enjoys walking his cocker spaniel, and watching, and occasionally playing, sport. He’s also been part of a community choir in Bristol.

SBC has been without a minister for 18 months, but during that time it has not stood still, and members have stepped up to the mark to make sure that the essential work has continued.

Most importantly, much time has been spent in exploring the way forward for the church and a consensus has been reached about the desire to work together as a team to take the church into the community. This matches the aspirations of their new Minister.
