Newhaven Country Market is one of a nation-wide network of local cooperative markets featuring genuinely home-produced foods, crafts, plants and produce in season.

Items on sale will usually include baked goods and confectionery, including Indian specialty food items, preserves, honey, eggs, plants and garden produce in season.

There are also various crafts such as jewellery, cards, knitting and textiles, wood-turning and the services of a tailoress and sewing machine service.

Country Markets do not sell bought-in goods; all items must be home-made, home-grown or hand-crafted.

Food producers hold current hygiene and food premises certification.

The market is open every Thursday throughout the year, except for two weeks over the Christmas and New Year period. It is based in the hall at the Hillcrest Community Centre, Hillcrest Road, Newhaven.BN9 9EA.
