MARIA BACKS SEAFORD TOWN COUNCIL OPPOSITION TO PARKING CHANGES

September 25 2015.

Local MP Maria Caulfield has welcomed news that Seaford Town Council has decided to oppose the introduction of new parking controls on the seafront in Seaford. The decision came at a meeting of the Planning and Highways Committee of the Town Council on the 10th September.

The decision of the Town Council follows a consultation exercise initiated by East Sussex County Council which has proposed to change the existing ‘No Return’ parking arrangements to a system involving resident permits and other controls.

Maria said: "The County Council’s proposals are extremely unpopular and I am pleased the Town Council in Seaford has added its voice to the concerns being expressed by local residents. I would reiterate my call for all residents who are opposed to the proposals to make their views known to the County Council as soon as possible."
