FRIENDS OF TIDE MILLS JULY MEETING

July 16th, 2018.

Jim Skinner reports:

The Friends of Tide Mills completed their July meeting yesterday in hot but glorious weather. We are very pleased to announce that we managed just one bag of assorted rubbish this time, plus one bag of recyclables. This is an all-time record low for us since we started in 2005!

We cannot thank enough, all those visitors to Tide Mills who help by taking their own litter home and those who help by taking other litter as well. There is no doubt that Tide Mills is well and truly "on the map" now and appreciated as this vital, peaceful open space as probably never before.....

We are also happy to announce that at least one Ringed Plover chick has hatched, which is great news.

Afterwards, we enjoyed our annual summer picnic - see above photo by one of our members, Mr David Turvey - which, as always, saw more than enough food and drink for everybody!

I would like to personally thank all our members for their ongoing support and enthusiasm in helping to ensure Tide Mills continues to be championed and cared for- What a great bunch you all are.

Our next meeting is on Sunday the 19th of August, always the third Sunday of the month. If you are interested in joining our friendly little band, please contact me at brianjimskinner@gmail.com or at www.friendsoftidemills.webs.com
