There is a special opening of Driftwood Garden in Seaford this Saturday, the 23rd of July, for local Sussex charity Family Support Work, the Children's Charity of Sussex. 

Garden owner Geoff Stonebanks has frequently opened his award-winning plot in Bishopstone for many larger charities over the years, notably The National Gardens Scheme and Macmillan Cancer Support, but he has been persuaded by the charity team to open especially for them on Saturday from 11.00am through to 5.00pm.

Regular listeners of Joe Talbot's Dig It on BBC Sussex will be familiar with head gardener Jean Griffin, who has generously agreed to be on hand in the garden to offer gardening advice to visitors. Geoff will be serving his legendary home-made tea and cakes on trays with vintage china in the front beach garden, or surrounded by plants at the rear. Several local artists will also be selling garden decorations and plant supports.

Clare Kabza, who organised a garden group from Hurstpierpoint to see Driftwood earlier this month is a typical visity to the garden, explaining: "Thank you so much for such an enjoyable visit today. We were all amazed and enthralled by your garden. Your dedication, motivation and enthusiasm is inspirational. Thank you for being such a wonderful host. The cakes were absolutely delicious. All the awards and accolades are well deserved. Keep up the good work."
