DANCE AND DEMONSTRATIONS SET TO INVADE THE FORT

June 18 2014.

Dr. Bone and the Surgeons of Swing are aiming to swing you off your seat and help you jive the night away in the atmospheric Romney Hut at Newhaven Fort on Armed Forces Day - Saturday the 28th of June. And if you want to go along in 1940s dress, then even better. There will be a bar serving various drinks and snacks, as well as a raffle in aid of Blind Veterans UK. Doors open at 7.30 pm, music begins at 8.00 pm and the tickets are available now from Newhaven Fort, priced at £11.

Moving on to Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of July, the Fort will host its annual Living History Weekend. This year you can meet groups portraying military life from the Victorian era through to World War Two, including the Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards 1815, as well as the Croix de Guerre and Croix de Lorraine with their depiction of French military and civilian life during WW1. The Royal Sussex Living History Group, T.A.T.A, the Bluejackets and Deco in Style will also be there, and if that's not enough, Hands on History will also be present with a selection of WW1 uniforms to try on and artefacts to handle.
