Evening of Local Farming Nostalgia. Bishopstone Parish Hall. Arrive 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. An illustrated talk by Ian Everest - "From the Sussex Ox to the Fordson Major" - the fascinating story of the use of oxen, horses and steam power on Sussex farms; their impact on the countryside and the modernising of agriculture with the arrival of the first tractors. After a cheese and wine break the second half will see a showing of a 1950's cine film - "A year in the life of Manor Farm, Bishopstone". This much acclaimed film, made by farmer John Willett, shows a time when twenty men worked on the farm all the year round - and forty at harvestime. Tickets - £7.00 including refreshments available from Linda's Stores at Bishopstone Railway Station. Money raised will go towards the upkeep of the Parish Hall.

CTLA (Community Transport Lewes Area) Charity Fashion Show. 7:30 pm. The Hillcrest Centre, Hillcrest Road, Newhaven. Come along and enjoy a cat walk show and a chance to buy from High Street fashion retailers at up to 50% discount. These include the "Per Una" and "Autograph" ranges from Marks and Spencers, amongst many others. There will also be a chance to buy costume jewellery, and a raffle. Cost £5.00 per ticket to include a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival. The profits will all go to CTLA which provides Community Transport for the surrounding areas, including Newhaven, Peacehaven, Seaford Lewes, Uckfield and Ringmer.
