APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR COMMUNITY GRANTS

September 14th, 2021.

Groups in Lewes district are being encouraged to submit their applications for community grants before the October deadline.

Local good causes and services can now access an annual fund of £263,000 after Cabinet councillors at Lewes District Council increased the three year funding scheme by over £100,000.

Grants will be allocated against five categories, including a new focus on wellbeing, sustainability and the environment. Applicants must also show what part they will play in the district’s recovery from the pandemic.

Councillor Johnny Denis, Cabinet member for Communities and Customers, said: “There are a few weeks left until the window closes on applications, so any organisations yet to complete an application must act now or potentially miss out.
“The funding is secured for three years, giving the voluntary sector security and the opportunity to make longer terms plans for their valuable work.”
