June 29 2016.

At a presentation last week, Peter Field, the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, officially launched the new CTLA accessible minibus that has been awarded to the Community Transport charity by the Department of Transport Minibus Fund.

The new vehicle will help elderly residents, people with learning and physical additional needs and those who do not have access to commercial bus services. It will also help to improve the everyday lives of people in rural communities and provide a vital link to medical services, shops and social events.

Guests included the High Sheriff of East Sussex - Mr Michael Field, Lewes MP Maria Caulfield, Mr Steve Bell CBA, the Mayor of Newhaven - Councillor Steve Saunders, Deputy Mayor of Peacehaven - Councillor Brian Gosling, Deputy Mayor of Newhaven - Councillor June Dyer, Mayor of Lewes - Councillor Graham Mayhew, Councillor Dave Argent and the Chairman of Lewes District Council - Councillor Nigel Enever.

After a short introduction to the front line services of CTLA the guests rode the bus to Papachino's at the Gateway Cafe in Peacehaven where CTLA has recently started helping a new Dementia Cafe project with transport for its service users.
